Here’s my five-step program to coping with an injury.
1. Make sure you look at Instagram incessantly to see all your friends out running and enjoying themselves. Bonus points if you get to do this on Marathon Monday.
2. Drink copious amounts of wine.
3. …and eat copious amounts of junk food.
4. Get irrationally angry at anyone and everyone around you for walking like a normal human being.
Needless to say, I’m handling this setback like a champion! Hope this helps all you other injured runners out there.
😦 😦 drink ALL the wine… And then some more. It really does help. I also think it has healing powers… Just like ice cream
Sending you more healing vibes!!!

Thanks lady! Been ingesting my fair share of ice cream, that’s for sure! Definitely had magical healing powers 😉

I absolutely agree with all of the above. I tripped and broke a bone in my knee. Waiting for it to heal was the worst! It’s so stupid, but it panicked me that my fitness was slipping away and there was nothing I could do about it.
Hopefully you’ll be back on your feet soon and until then, focus your energy on 2 and 3 and remind yourself that in reality, a few weeks out will have no impact on your success.

Thank you! Luckily I’m not really training for anything in particular, I’ve just found that I’m suddenly SO bored! I just miss running!

😦 I’m sorry dude. Being injured sucks. When do you think you’ll try running again? Good luck with the healing process (and don’t rush it).

I’m hoping walking happens next week! Ha! And then running in another couple. It’s been feeling better but it’s a real doozy! Hoping the longer I stay off it, the faster it’ll heal!

The first few days are the absolute worst, but you’re right the only way to get through is with wine and binge watching TV. Hope you heal up super quick!
